Does your school have an Instagram marketing strategy? Today, thanks to the photo sharing app and other social media sites, everyone is a photographer. And thanks to Instagram’s many filters, anyone’s photos can be viewed as “art” (see infographic below: What your Instagram filter says about you).
Instagram has 100 million monthly active users, so it’s a safe bet that your students and graduates are utilizing it, which is why your school needs an Instagram marketing strategy! You should be tapping into the photos that students and graduates are taking around campus, in the lab, on the salon floor, at their externship, or working in their industry. Here are some interesting statistics about Instagram and its users:
- 40 million photos are uploaded a day
- 1,000 comments per second
- 8,500 likes per second
- 34 percent of users are 18-24 years old
- 33 percent of users 25-34 years old
- 55 percent of users are female and 45 percent of users are male
These statistics show that the photos are out there, and now it’s time to start using them if you’re not already. Students and graduates will feel honored if you cross promote their photos across your social media sites. By doing this, it’ll give prospects a look into the life of your students and graduates. It’ll also help you retain students and keep graduates connected to your school (think of placement reporting).
