Director of Business Development

At ESM Digital, we are poised for explosive growth as a team of creative and passionate digital marketers specializing in higher education. We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on, consultative leader to enhance our business development capabilities. As the Director of Business Development, your role encompasses nurturing the sales funnel and engineering proposals to meet clients’ needs and asking the right questions to uncover what those needs entail. At ESM Digital, we value focused listeners who are able to hone in on the audience and deliver knockout presentations that engage clients.

Business Development

  • Experience in selling digital marketing agency services.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of sales opportunities
  • Oversee the management of new business relationships and ensure an effective handover to our Agency Team
  • Develop and utilize a strong network of higher education contacts through industry events, cold calls and face to face meetings with prospects
  • Maintain a prioritized prospect target list within the company’s CRM
  • Provide weekly reporting to management on business development activities and open opportunities
  • Handle objections by clarifying and working through differences to achieve a high prospect to close rate
  • Continue to build on and leverage relationships with key partners
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Present an image that fully represents ESM Digital’s values
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Sales Engineer

  • Experience working as a practitioner in the digital marketing field (SEM, SEO, paid social, content marketing, email marketing, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of how all marketing channels work together to meet client’s goals
  • Develop proposals that speak to the prospective client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Craft written and oral strategy proposals in response to RFPs
  • Participate in client solution and pricing discussions
